On 13 June 2025, the Università di Pisa organised a dialogue event titled “Women and Health: A Dialogue on Wellbeing and Awareness” in the women’s wing of the Don Bosco Correctional Facility in Pisa, Italy.

The event was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ project PARTNER (Participatory Approach for Training, Empowerment, and Health Education Resources in Prisons). Led by researcher Dr. Erica De Vita, the meeting focused on promoting health literacy, empowerment, and awareness among women living in prison.

The PARTNER project  aims to foster inclusive health education, strengthen public health engagement, and encourage cooperation between academia and prison communities across Europe. As part of the initiative, qualitative research is being conducted to document and reflect the lived experiences of incarcerated women, with the broader goal of bridging the gap between prison life and society.
