The PARTNER project is adopting a co-design approach—a circular and participatory process through which men and women living in prisons, along with prison staff, will actively collaborate with the PARTNER consortium. The aim is to jointly define health needs and co-create tailored training content that reflects the lived experiences and realities within correctional settings.
In the coming months, co-design sessions will be carried out in Italy, France, Greece, and Moldova, engaging participants directly in shaping the PARTNER training programme. These sessions will explore:
- Key health literacy gaps and health-related needs of incarcerated individuals and staff
- Perceptions and attitudes towards health and health information in prison
- Barriers to accessing health-related information
- Feedback and suggestions on the PARTNER training content and methodologies
The active involvement of the target groups will help ensure that the training materials developed are accessible, relevant, and usable in the prison context—enhancing their long-term impact and applicability across diverse systems.
