During recent co-creation sessions at a correctional facility in Moldova, participants shared key factors that influence attitudes towards health.
Higher education was found to foster openness to prevention, while individuals living with chronic conditions te nd to be more attentive to their health. Participation in educational sessions was associated with more positive health attitudes, and respectful, empathetic communication from staff increased engagement.
These findings highlight the importance of education, empathy, and tailored interventions in improving health literacy in prisons.
